Earlier today, 10th October 2024, Dr. Oluebube A. Chukwu, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Abia State on Due Process, joined the wife of the Governor of Abia State, Her Excellency Mrs. Priscilla Oti and Mrs. Adaeze Emetu, wife of the Deputy Governor of Abia State and other notable government officials and enthusiastic school students for a road walk to raise awareness for the upcoming World Sight Day Child Eye Health Outreach.

The awareness walk, organized by the Abia State Eye Health Management Bureau led by Dr. Betty Emeka-Obasi, is part of a series of activities aimed at highlighting the importance of child eye health. The event underscores the commitment of the Abia State Government to promoting affordable, quality eye care for all children.

The World Sight Day outreach was observed from Monday, October 7th and ended on Thursday, October 10th, 2024, with the theme “Love Your Eyes, Kids."

Through activities such as screenings in schools, cataract surgeries, and teacher training on eye health, this outreach will bring much-needed eye care services to children across Abia State.
