Dr. Oluebube A. Chukwu, on Thursday, June 5, 2025, received an autographed copy of The Water School, a recently published children’s book authored by Ogbu Eme, and supported by The Oluebube A. Chukwu Foundation.

The Foundation, which also offered significant publication support to the book, confirmed the purchase of four hundred additional copies from the author. These will be distributed free of charge to school children across Abia State during The Oluebube A. Chukwu Foundation's forthcoming school tour initiative.

The presentation, held in Umuahia, was marked by a quiet but meaningful exchange between Dr. Oluebube A. Chukwu, Helen Mannic and the author, who commended the Foundation’s consistent efforts to promote literacy and youth education across the state.

Speaking during the brief ceremony, Dr Chukwu described The Water School as “a powerful educational tool that combines storytelling with important lessons about water conservation and community life.” He noted that children learn best when literature speaks to their everyday realities.

The Oluebube A. Chukwu Foundation has over the years positioned itself as a strong advocate for quality education, especially in underserved rural communities. This latest project, Foundation officials say, is part of a broader plan to improve reading culture and learning resources in public schools.

Author Ogbu Eme expressed gratitude for the Foundation’s backing, adding that with its support, the book is poised to be distributed to various nooks and crannies of society. “This partnership shows what’s possible when writers and civil society leaders work together to put books into the hands of our young ones,” he said.

The Foundation’s school tour is expected to begin as the school year progresses, with visits scheduled across the three senatorial zones of Abia State. Dr. Chukwu reiterated the commitment of The Oluebube A. Chukwu Foundation to continue investing in educational projects that leave lasting impact.
