The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Due Process, Dr. Oluebube Chukwu, has sympathized with the Umunneochi Timber Dealers Association, Isuochi branch, over the recent fire incident that gutted their market and goods, describing the disaster as very pathetic and economic sabotage.

Speaking at Isuochi Timber Market, Eke Isuochi, during an on-the-spot check to ascertain the level of carnage caused by the inferno, Dr. Oluebube Chukwu asserted that he received the ugly incident early in the morning on that fateful day. He added that the odd time the incident happened made it difficult to be controlled, and noted that what he saw on the ground at the timber market is sad and disturbing, as the people's means of livelihood have been destroyed.

The Amuda-born Dr. Oluebube, who consoled all the Timber Dealers affected by the fire incident, urged them to bear the loss with courage. He also called on the well-to-do in the local government and beyond to rally support for them, believing that God will intervene in their trying times. He assured to bring this disaster to the knowledge of State Emergency Management Agency and other relevant government agencies for possible assistance. He prayed to God to give them additional resources to start business life afresh towards meeting up with their daily family needs.

He emphasized the need to have a modern Fire Service Station at Umunneochi local government headquarters in terms of future mishaps, adding that the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, has many positive programs that will improve the security situation and natural disaster occurrences in the state. He pointed out that all elected, appointed, and Critical Stakeholders in Umunneochi will continue working in synergy to guarantee a better place for all in the local government.

The Governor's Aide, who used the opportunity to appreciate the Governor who has been keeping to all his campaign promises religiously towards equitable distribution of democracy dividends in all the parts of the state, also added that Umunneochi is being accommodated in various proportions in this present administration and urged the people of the council to continue supporting the government.

Also Speaking, the President General, Isuochi Development Union, Chief Ochi Orji, who marveled at the level of complete destruction of the Timber market, noted that the cause of the fire incident may not be unconnected with the enemies within. He added that the perpetrators of such economic sabotage must be brought to judgment.

Responding, the Chairman, Isuochi Timber Dealers Association, Ichie Anyabu Okpara, who thanked the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Due Process, Dr. Oluebube Chukwu, the PG, IDU, Chief Ochi Orji, and others who came to sympathize with them in their difficult moment, added that they are comforted with their message of hope and need their support to enable them to start business afresh.
