On October 16th, 2024, in observance of World Food Day, Dr. Oluebube A. Chukwu, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Abia State on Due Process, raised concerns about the widespread issue of insufficient access to food impacting communities nationwide.

During a special interview on Love FM, Umuahia, Dr. Chukwu emphasized the fundamental right to food, describing it as a necessity of life. He remarked, “When food is deprived from people, it becomes an epidemic.” In his clarion call, he urged all stakeholders and citizens to join hands in combating hunger and food scarcity, emphasizing the need for collective action to address this pressing issue.

When asked about the progress of the Due Process and Public Procurement Bureau, Dr. Chukwu expressed optimism, highlighting the strategic reforms and advancements the bureau has made. He reaffirmed his belief that the bureau will emerge as a national pacesetter before the end of the current administration. “These achievements position the bureau for excellence, setting a benchmark for others to follow,” he noted.

Dr. Oluebube’s message on World Food Day serves as a reminder of the importance of food security and the need for integrity and collaboration in procurement practices to ensure a sustainable future for all.
