Umunneochi LGA Zone 1 Stakeholders Meet To Strengthen Unity And Support For Otti's Government


Stakeholders from Zone 1 in Umunneochi Local Government Area, gathered on Saturday, March 29, 2025, for a crucial meeting at the residence of Barr. Ndubuisi Nwaokorie in Umuada, Ezingodo. The meeting, attended by key political figures and community representatives, reaffirmed the commitment of Zone 1 to the progress and development of Umunneochi LGA under the administration of Governor Alex Otti.  


Present at the meeting were Dr. Oluebube A. Chukwu, the SSA to the Governor on Due Process and Head of the Abia State Public Procurement Bureau; Hon. Chaka Chukwumerije, the Honourable Commissioner for Lands and Housing; Hon. Matthias Umeh (Nwachi), a member of the Abia State House of Assembly; Hon. Sunday Afurobi, the Mayor of Umunneochi LGA. Also in attendance were representatives from the Hausa community, youth groups, and women’s organizations, reflecting broad support for the government’s development agenda.  


Addressing the gathering, Dr. Oluebube A. Chukwu emphasized the importance of unity as the greatest means of supporting the government. "The only way we can repay this government is by standing together. We must ensure our presence is felt in Abia State," he said. He also expressed his satisfaction in being part of Governor Otti’s administration, stating, "I am happy to contribute my quota, and I believe we will continue to stand behind His Excellency until he leads us to the expected end."  


Hon. Chaka Chukwumerije, the Commissioner for Lands and Housing, also spoke about the significance of the meeting. "The development of Umunneochi is a shared responsibility. This administration is committed to infrastructure, housing, and land reforms that will benefit everyone, but we need the people’s support to succeed," he said. He urged stakeholders to engage actively in governance and advocate for the progress of their communities.  


Hon. Sunday Afurobi, the Mayor of Umunneochi, highlighted the importance of grassroots mobilization in achieving the government's goals. "Meetings like this will be held in all four zones of Umunneochi LGAs to ensure inclusivity in governance. Our collective efforts will determine how much we achieve as a people under Governor Otti's administration," he stated. He encouraged stakeholders to remain steadfast and spread the message of good governance.  


Dr. Chukwu commended Governor Otti for the recent flag-off of the Mbala-Umuaku-Ngodo Road project, describing it as proof to the administration’s commitment to infrastructural development. He urged stakeholders to ensure that the governor's achievements are widely acknowledged to sustain public support for his administration.  


The Zone 1 stakeholders reaffirmed their unwavering support for Governor Otti’s administration, vowing to work collectively toward the continued progress of Umunneochi and Abia State at large.
