Oluebube Chukwu Lauds Otti’s Administration, Fetes NULGE At New Year

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Abia State on Due Process, Dr. Oluebube A. Chukwu, has lauded the administration of Governor Alex Chioma Otti for its people-oriented reforms, as he celebrated the New Year with workers of the Umunneochi Local Government Council.

Dr. Chukwu stated this during a New Year interaction with staff of the council held at the Umunneochi Local Government Council Headquarters on January 6, 2026. He expressed delight at being among the workers, stressing the importance of unity, dedication, progress and good governance in building a prosperous Abia State.

He commended Governor Otti for his integrity, visionary leadership and capacity to deliver on campaign promises, noting that the present administration has brought about visible transformation across the state.

According to Chukwu, no sector has been left untouched by the ongoing reforms of Governor Otti, which he described as deliberate and people-focused.

Dr. Chukwu particularly highlighted improvements in workers’ welfare, pointing out that civil servants in Abia State now enjoy the prompt payment of salaries on or before the 28th of every month, alongside the implementation of the new minimum wage and pensions. He noted that workers in the state have “never had it so good” in the history of Abia, attributing this to the governor’s commitment to accountability and transparency.

In a gesture of goodwill, Dr. Chukwu donated a giant cow and the sum of ₦100,000 to the workers to mark the New Year celebration.

He also pledged to donate a vehicle to the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Umunneochi chapter, to support the union’s activities.

In their response, the workers, under the umbrella of NULGE, expressed gratitude to Dr. Chukwu for his generosity and continued support, describing his visit as morale-boosting and reassuring.

Among several workers at the meeting, those who received him on behalf of NULGE included the Chairman, Engr. Kingsley Ajala; Vice Chairman, Comrade Don Nwuju Chukwuma; Secretary, Comrade Nwigwe Sopuruchi; Treasurer, Comrade Uche Nkiru Mercy; Auditor, Comrade Nwafor Jude and Women Committee Chairperson, Comrade Uzor Esomchi.

The event featured goodwill messages, prayers and renewed commitment by workers to support the policies and programmes of the Abia State Government.
