On Friday, December 20, 2024, Dr. Oluebube A. Chukwu, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Abia State on Due Process and Head, Abia State Due Process and Public Procurement Bureau, attended the official launch of the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Emblem at the Aguiyi Ironsi Conference Hall, Umuahia.

The event, organized in collaboration with the Nigerian Legion, Abia State Council, paid homage to the bravery and sacrifices of Nigeria’s fallen heroes while highlighting the need to support the welfare of veterans and their families.

The unveiling of the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Emblem was performed by Professor Ken Kalu, the Secretary to the Abia State Government, marking a significant moment in the ceremony and a renewed call for patriotism and support for the nation’s veterans.

In his goodwill message, Dr. Chukwu emphasized the significance of recognizing the sacrifices of the nation’s heroes and underscored the commitment of the administration led by Governor Alex C. Otti to the welfare of veterans. “Our fallen heroes fought valiantly for our nation’s peace and stability. It is our collective duty to honor their legacy and ensure the well-being of their families,” he stated.

The ceremony featured the unveiling of the 2025 emblem, symbolic presentations, and heartfelt tributes to the men and women who laid down their lives in service to the nation.
