The Amuda Unity Cup, fully sponsored by Dr. Chukwu, is aimed at promoting peace and unity within the community, fostering healthy competition, and discovering and nurturing young football talents at the grassroots level. In his keynote address, Dr. Chukwu highlighted the vital role of sports in character development, youth engagement, and community building. He noted that football, beyond recreation, serves as a powerful tool for instilling discipline, teamwork, and mutual respect among young people.

He commended the administration of Governor Alex Otti for its strong commitment to youth empowerment and community-driven initiatives across Abia State. According to him, the state government’s policies and programmes are laying a solid foundation for sustainable development, particularly in infrastructure, security, and citizens’ welfare.

The Isuochi-born technocrat urged participating teams to uphold the values of fair play, discipline, and respect throughout the tournament, stressing that the spirit of unity should remain paramount both on and off the pitch. He also called on the people of Amuda and Abia State at large to continue supporting Governor Otti’s reform-driven agenda, which he described as people-focused and transformative.
