August Meeting is a congress which is organized and mostly celebrated by Igbo women. In Igbo Land, the women are not passive towards the development of the community thus they utilize this important occasion to discuss ideas that will bring about community and human capital development in their towns and also to empower their fellow women. Thus, August Meetings are a homecoming event that attracts both women in diaspora and those resident in the villages.
These women turned out in their numbers, adorned in beauty and exuding an aura of elegant femininity. Such demeanour was captured in the Isuochi Development Union (IDU) Women's Wing 2024 Biannual August meeting (Nwalowa) Celebration.
Isuochi women, arrayed in their "Onye Ohembeanyi" uniform, actively participated in the various activities of the Year 2024 August Meeting which culminated in a March Past competition sponsored by The Oluebube A. Chukwu Foundation, OACF, where our Founder, OA. Chukwu, Ph.D., took the salute as the Parade Reviewing Official.
During the grand finale of the 2024 Nwalowa August Meeting, our modest strides towards providing community support, empowering academic talents, alleviating poverty through rural-based development programs amongst other initiatives at the Oluebube A. Chukwu Foundation, OACF, were recognized by the Women's Wing of the Isuochi Development Union with the conferment of "Enyioha Ndi Isuochi" Award of Honour on our Founder, High Chief Oluebube Amarauche Chukwu, Ph.D.
On behalf of the OACF, he reassured Isuochi Women of the Foundation's active support especially on their purpose-driven projects.
He enthused: "Ndi Nne Isuochi, I am so elated to have graced and participated actively during the course of this event and am grateful for the recognition. Thank you very much."
The highlight of his day was seeing the fulfilled faces of his amazing Isuochi Mothers and the wonderful Miracle Ladies of Oluebube A. Chukwu who accompanied him to the event.
