The atmosphere in Amuda community, Umunneochi LGA of Abia State was one of excitement and gratitude as Dr. Oluebube Chukwu, Senior Special Assistant to the Abia State Governor, donated educational materials and launched a new endowment fund to support bright but underprivileged students.

Speaking during the graduation ceremony of Divine Intellectual Academy, Trinity Methodist Church, yesterday (July 26, 2025), Dr. Chukwu emphasized the transformative power of education, aligning his gesture with Governor Alex Otti’s ongoing reforms in the sector.

“Education remains the most powerful tool to transform our society. We must equip our children today if we want a better tomorrow,” said Dr. Chukwu, who is also the founder of The Oluebube A. Chukwu Foundation.

The donation included a plasma television, 50 graduation gowns, and a new playground swing set for the school.
The newly unveiled endowment fund is expected to provide long-term support for academically outstanding but financially disadvantaged students in the area.

The school's proprietor, Very Rev. Chidi Ohadugha, hailed the intervention as “timely and impactful,” expressing deep appreciation on behalf of the school and church.
“This is more than charity; it is a deliberate investment in the future of this community,” he said.
Also speaking, Hon. David Mba, Councillor of Amuda Ward, who represented the Chairman of the occasion, Arch. Daniel Uwaezuoke, described Dr. Chukwu’s initiative as “a shining example of people-oriented leadership.”
In a heartfelt vote of thanks, the Head Girl, Miss Ogechi Uzoma, pledged on behalf of her peers to uphold the values of discipline, excellence, and integrity instilled in them.
The well-attended occasion drew community leaders, youth groups, women organizations, and well-wishers, all united in celebration of a renewed commitment to education in Amuda.
The event featured cultural performances, traditional dances, debates, and prize presentations, celebrating the achievements of Nursery Three and Primary Six graduates. Cash prizes and awards were also presented by dignitaries to encourage academic excellence.
