DR OLUEBUBE CONGRATULATES ABIA WORKERS ON LABOUR DAY CELEBRATION

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Due Process, Dr Oluebube Chukwu, on behalf of his family and members of Oluebube A Chukwu Foundation, has expressed his solidarity with the Governor, Dr Alex Otti, the Staff of his Due Process Office office, and Abia Workers at large on the auspicious occasion of their 2024 Workers day celebrations, asserting that there is dignity in labour, and wished them joyous event.

Speaking in a release, Dr Oluebube Chukwu, who noted that there is rigorous process in labour, notwithstanding the proceeds are honourable, asserting that Workers are the fulcrum through which developmental strides and strong society building are facilitated and actualized, and noted that Abia Workers through their dedication to duty and selfless service delivery, are true partners in progress in the present Governor Otti led Labour party administration in Abia state.

The Due Process Boss however congratulated Abia Workers for being alive to witness this year's May day celebration in spite of the current economic hardship, urging them to remain progressive partners with the Governor who is more committed to carrying them along through the regular payment of their salaries among other welfare packages that will soon be announced.

He however used the opportunity and appreciated Governor Otti, for the recent clearing of the backlog of Pension Arrears owed Abia pensioners, by the past administration in the state, and the pledged regular payment of their pension allowances on 28th of every month and stated optimism that more better packages awaits Abia Workers at large towards appreciating their support to his administration.

Dr Oluebube while expressing concerns over the high cost of living occasioned by the fuel subsidy removal without any cushioning effects by Federal Government, but stated optimism that with the anticipated upward review of National Minimum wage by Federal Government, respite is in sight, admonishing Workers to make judicious utilization of this planting season to embark on farming activities within their free periods, to complement their monthly wage which can no longer be sufficient to service their family needs.
