Born on February 18, 1965, Governor Otti's journey from a humble background to the esteemed office of Governor exemplifies resilience, commitment, and an unyielding passion for service.

Governor Otti's early life in Umuru Village in Umuehim-Nvosi Community in present day Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area was shaped by the values of hardwork and perseverance as instilled in him by his parents, Pastor and Mrs. Lazarus Weze Otti, where he started his early education. He later proceeded to Ngwa High School Ngwa High School, Aba, and Secondary Technical School, Okpuala Ngwa, where he distinguished himself as an outstanding student. He furthered his education at the University of Port Harcourt, graduating with First Class honors in Economics in 1988, and later obtained an MBA from the University of Lagos in 1994. His pursuit of excellence led him to prestigious programs at Columbia Business School, Stanford Business School, and INSEAD, France.

Governor Otti's illustrious career in banking commenced in 1989 with the Nigerian International Bank, a subsidiary of Citibank New York. His expertise and dedication saw him rise through the ranks in various financial institutions, culminating in his role as the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Diamond Bank Plc in 2011. Under his stewardship, the bank experienced significant growth and innovation solidifying his reputation as a transformative leader in Nigeria's banking sector.

Governor Otti's foray into politics was driven by a profound desire to serve and uplift his people. Driven by this passion for public service, Governor Otti ventured into politics. In 2015, he contested the Abia State gubernatorial election under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). Despite a contentious electoral process, his resolve remained unshaken. He contested again in 2019, facing similar challenges. Demonstrating resilience and an unwavering commitment to positive change, despite facing challenges in previous elections, his perseverance culminated in a historic victory in March 2023, when he was elected as the Governor of Abia State under the Labour Party after securing a decisive victory, becoming the fifth democratically elected Governor of Abia State.

Since assuming office on May 29, 2023, Governor Otti has embarked on an ambitious agenda to rejuvenate Abia State, his administration has embarked on a series of developmental transformations aimed at revitalizing the state's economy and infrastructure.

Under Governor Otti's leadership, Abia State has witnessed significant improvements in infrastructure, with the construction and rehabilitation of critical road networks enhancing connectivity and commerce. His commitment to education is evident in the renovation of schools and the implementation of policies that promote quality learning environments for students.

In the healthcare sector, Governor Otti has initiated programs to upgrade medical facilities and ensure accessible healthcare services for all residents. His administration's focus on agriculture has empowered local farmers through training and resources, contributing to food security and economic diversification.

Governor Otti's dedication to transparency and good governance has fostered a culture of accountability within the state's institutions. By promoting policies that encourage investment and entrepreneurship, he has created an enabling environment for businesses to thrive, thereby boosting the state's economy.
