Abians marked a historic milestone with the groundbreaking ceremony of the Abia Airport Project in Ubaha Nsulu and are grateful to all who played very important roles in the actualization of this great feat. They all deserve our gratitude for supporting this transformative initiative. Critics of this project often question its timing and relevance. While we respect diverse opinions, it is essential to emphasize that this airport is integral to Governor Otti's vision of opening Abia to global opportunities. The airport project aligns with our government's broader goals of urbanization, attracting investments and creating a thriving economy. These are laudable ideas of Master Strategist Alex Otti. Dr. Otti provided insight into the airport design which accentuated as more than just a transportation hub. The airport project when completed will be part of a larger development plan, including ancillary projects such as the Nsulu Games Village, luxury hotels and the Abia Medical City. These initiatives will boost medical tourism, enhance business prospects and position Abia State as a major destination in West Africa. The Abia Airport will feature a Type 4D runway of 2.8 kilometers, with the potential to upgrade to a Type 4E runway of 3.6 kilometers, accommodating larger aircraft.
